A security gate is an exterior gate that is designed with bars of metal or wood. They are usually installed on the driveways or the fencing areas of a home. Due to the vertical arrangement of the panels, it’s difficult to climb on them. Quite often, the bars also end up like sharp spikes to threaten potential intruders. There are two basic categories of security gates for homes – Manual and Automated. A manual gate is operated by a person and is controlled with a lock and key. An automated gate works with movement detection to open or close. Manual gates are cheap and easy to install. Automated gates are expensive and are more labor intense.
